Queer Engagement at Tulsa Botanical Garden

I’m Kat!

And I’m ready to see your love bloom. As your wedding photographer, I champion prompts over poses and encourage you to play with movement because all I want is for you to be yourself while I’m there to capture it all. Those sentimental moments we may overlook, the genuine emotion that can be translated into timeless art, and telling your story as uniquely as you both have lived it—I’m here to capture your happily ever after, preserve your sweetest memories, and cheer you the hell on every step of the way. Let’s document your special day!

Queer Engagement at Tulsa Botanical Garden

Tulsa Botanical Gardens is such a beautiful space that lends itself to perfectly display your moment no matter your style and taste with Oklahoma’s finest on display. That was perfectly so for Emma and Jayla on the day of their engagement. Jayla had a great vision that I got to partner with her to execute. It went according to plan excellently and this queer engagement came to life!

Tulsa Botanical Gardens is one of a few queer friendly wedding venues in Tulsa. We hope that it will not always be the case, as it brings me so much joy to highlight queer stories for my sweet couples. Jayla wanted to surprise Emma in a few different ways. First with the proposal, second with their dogs there and third with documenting the moment so they could have it forever!

Jayla and Emma’s friend hid with their pups behind a tree while I lounged innocently enjoying the perfect weather in preparation for the big moment. Emma approached us with the help of some of her friends and met Jayla on the beautiful fountain steps immediately glowing in her surprise. From my spot on the lawn I caught each moment and even got a tear in my eye when the pups were able to join their humans to celebrate the occasion. We got some pictures of the four of them and got to walk around the gardens to finish the day off with couple photos.

Taking the Burden Off

All and all the best. If you are looking for inclusive vendors for your queer engagement and wedding I want to help make that process easier anyway I can. I have a preferred vendors list vetted for inclusivity to take a load off in the planning process. Leaving you more time to focus on the fun stuff.

This session was associate shot for Ana Nunez Photography.
